#DearDaughter is a blog series by Jordone Massey.
I originally started writing this series as pages in my personal journal to encourage myself. My hope is that writing this series as if God, your Father, is directly speaking to you will inspire you to draw closer to His love in the midst of your hard times.
Dear daughter,
I hear your prayers.
I am not ignoring you.
I have not forgotten your deepest desires.
Yet, there is a deeper need that I want you to ask Me for.
When you pray, you talk to Me about your career, your problems, and the people who have wronged you.
Of course, I want you to share all of these matters with Me.
However, I also want to see you receive the answers that you are looking for.
Here’s what I need you to do…
Ask me what your truest need is.
Sometimes you ask Me about what you think you need without considering that there’s a deeper need that I care for you to have.
You may think you need to pay a bill.
Yet, your trust in Me is the greater need.
You may think you need to get married.
Yet, your greater need is to let go of co-dependency before I send you your spouse.
You may think you need to change churches because of your sister’s attitude.
Yet, your greater need is that you need to learn to forgive.
I will always answer you when you pray according to the needs that I see on your heart.
I want to solve your problems.
But, I want to do so in a way that you find maturity, wisdom, and growth in My love for you.
I want to see you witness answers to your prayers.
I know that you are frustrated when you don’t see the answers to your prayers.
Instead of praying from a place of frustration, I want to see you pray from a place of hunger and intimacy.
I want to see you enjoy your prayer life again.
Will you let Me help you?
Love,
Daddy
Prayer: Lord, help me to understand what I’m really needing from You in this season of my life. Help my heart to align with Your perspective of my trial. Help me to want the maturity, growth, and wisdom that You have for me. Help me to see answers to my prayers again so that I may grow closer to You as my Daddy. Then, give me the courage to use those answered prayers to testify so that I may help others. In Jesus’ name, Amen.
Philippians 4:19 And my God shall supply all your need according to His riches in glory by Christ Jesus.
Love,
