Dear Daughter: You Are Not Alone in Your Pain
Have you ever asked God, “Lord, why am I going through this?” Have you ever wondered, “Will I ever heal from this pain?” We all have moments where we go through pain. However, rarely do we get to experience the purpose behind the trial and the blessing behind the mess. My new e-book, How to Find the Purpose in Your Pain, will teach you how to find purpose in the deepest areas of trauma and hurt in your life so you can learn how to find the hidden good behind your greatest struggles. #DearDaughter is a blog series by Jordone Massey.
I originally started writing this series as pages in my personal journal to encourage myself. My hope is that writing this series as if God, your Father, is directly speaking to you will inspire you to draw closer to His love in the midst of your hard times.
Dear Daughter,
You are not alone in your suffering.
Although your trial may feel unique, there are others just like you and some who have it even worse.
Your emotions are valid.
I can relate to your pain and I know what it’s like to feel tempted, lonely, and isolated in your wounds.
This is why My Word says, “For we do not have a high priest who is unable to empathize with our weaknesses, but we have one who has been tempted in every way, just as we are—yet he did not sin” (Hebrews 4:15, NIV).
Do not bury or hide what you are afraid to talk about.
The enemy loves to see you isolate yourself when you are hurting.
In your isolation, he can talk to you about Me. Those around you will not be able to encourage you when you are by yourself.
Satan thrives in making you think that no one understands you or can identify with your pain.
But, daughter, let Me tell you that I have many servants on Earth who are hurting and “…I am the Lord who heals you” (Exodus 15:26, NKJV).
Just as I am restoring their wounds, I can do the same for you,
Be at ease with my promises.
When everything feels dark and confusing, turn the light back on in your life by rehearsing the promises I’ve already given you.
Do you remember the last encouraging Words that I spoke to you? Write them down and re-read them when you feel weak.
If you do not have any Words that you can remember, go back to My Bible and re-read My promises.
When times are hard, I want you to strive to find comfort in Me.
I want you to encourage yourself!
Turn on worship music out loud in your home.
Run, shout, and cry My name when you need to.
Be intentional about drowning the voice of the enemy with My Word and worshiping Me.
Know that this is not the end.
Greater is coming for you if you can only wait with Me.
I am here for you and with you…
I love you,
Daddy
Prayer: “Lord, I admit to you that I am frustrated and hurt about many areas in my life. I want You to heal me but I don’t know how. Teach me how to come to You for healing. Teach me how to rest in You even when things don’t feel right. In Jesus’ name, Amen.”
“When you pass through the waters, I will be with you; and through the rivers, they shall not overwhelm you; when you walk through fire you shall not be burned, and the flame shall not consume you” Isaiah 43:2, ESV.
Other promises of God: Philippians 4:19, Jeremiah 29:11, Isaiah 41:10, Psalm 84:11
